For more than 50 years
my Grandfather (Abuelo) has grown and harvested his Arabica coffee using sustainable and organic methods. He has been a steward of his land knowing that
one day, with good care, he would have something precious to pass on to me and my cousins.
Café de Mi Abuelo is a shade grown, high altitude estate coffee. The farm itself, at an elevation of 5800 feet, is more dense with natural vegetation than
most rain forests, providing a home for a wide variety of birds and other wildlife. We use this dense forest surrounding to protect our plants from the hot
sun and help reduce the need for excess watering. This natural habitat is virtually free of most pests that have become a meal for the inhabitants of this
coffee forest. We even use the by-products of the coffee cleaning process as fertilizer for the coffee plants.
It is because of this care we take of our land that it returns the favor with some of the best coffee in the world, consistently qualifying high in the
Cup of Excellence. We hope you will enjoy our coffee as much as we do.
